    In Flames at Heavy MTL

So I saw In Flames for the first time yesterday at Heavy MTL, a festival here in Montreal (first day was Mayhem plus a few other bands). They were amazing! :D Definitely my favourite show of the day. Machine Head was awesome too, my second place. Anyway, it was pretty much everything I expected...

    Other Favourite Bands

Mastodon is cool! I like their Leviathan album the most I'd say, but all their albums are great really. I'll have to listen to them some more, haven't lately. Also you guys ever listen to the Black Dahlia Murder? I heard they were good so I listened to a couple of their albums last night. I'd...

    Other Favourite Bands

Helloween and Gamma Ray are awesome. Love Kai Hansen! Stratovarius are great too, especially some of their newer proggier stuff. Now Sonata Arctica I don't really care for, always saw them as a lesser version of Strat. And who can forget Blind Guardian. :D Been listening to them a lot lately...

    Bah at you all!

Nobody is saying he can't "handle" their opinions. He's talking about people derailing threads to voice their opinions on the new album. Look at the thread about the album shippping out in the US, it has nothing to do with the quality of the album yet someone chimes in almost immediately about...

    Other Favourite Bands

Hey, sorry I missed this post. As far as thrash bands from Florida I can't think of any offhand, most of the thrash I listen to is either Bay Area or New York, but one good Florida death metal band you might like is Atheist. Their second album is pretty thrashy and has some cool jazz stuff going...

Wierd words in the final minute of Bottled

I can see why some people do. I think they have some great material though, I don't really pay attention to the hype and stuff surrounding bands usually. I think they will be fun to see live though, same weekend I'm seeing In Flames. :D

Yeah. Overall my favourite album from them would be Follow the Reaper. Perfect balance between their earlier stuff and the later. Great album.

Nice! I'm seeing them on July 24th, should be awesome. I thought the new album was pretty good as well, Not My Funeral and Shovel Knockout are my favourites I'd say.

    In Flames lyrics discussion

Yeah, meaning doesn't really change either way. Definitely my favourite lyrics from CC, either way.

Wierd words in the final minute of Bottled

You know, I honestly don't think I've heard a Slipknot song before. Not knowing it was them, anyway. My guilty pleasure would be Children of Bodom I guess... depending peoples' view of them. :P Their second, third and fourth albums are great though, if you ask me.

    In Flames lyrics discussion

I hear smile, aplaud, love, hail. Makes a little more sense when you pair it with the other section of" lie, rape, steal and murder", both have four words. And yeah, great song, one of my favourites from CC. As far as my favourite lyrics go, Jotun probably takes the cake. Cryptic, dark and...

Wierd words in the final minute of Bottled

I agree about Soundtrack, I don't mind it at all, I think it has some good songs. I don't listen to any of that American nu-metal stuff either, not really my cup of tea. It's not one of their best albums but I'd rank it above RTR I'd say. I only enjoy a couple songs from it at all. Come Clarity...

    Favorite metal singer

Bruce Dickinson Rob Halford Matt Barlow Tim "Ripper" Owens Russell Allen Hansi Kursch Geoff Tate Speed Strid Mike Patton Jon Oliva Anders Friden And Joey of course. Some for pure range, some for power and some for versatility and willingness to experiment.

In Flames song you don't like

Satellites and Astronauts is by far my least favourite Clayman song. It's way too slow for me, and I find the whole thing really boring. Kills the pace of the album for me, thankfully Brush the Dust Away is right there to pick it up again. :D I'll do the rest of my list later, gotta get ready...

In Flames -Sounds of A Playground Fading (Upcoming 10th album)

I think it sounds great so far. Several steps above the last album, anyway. I like Anders' clean vocals on Ropes, sounds pretty good. Solo is great too!
