Hey guys, Sorry for bringing this forum topic up again but my drummer just bought an Alesis D4 module the other week to use for kick triggers but we couldn't find anything on how to updgrade it! So ATM it only has a "gain" function with no "noise, crosstalk" options. Can someone please...

    Sci-fi metal?

Gods of Eden's lyrics deal with a lot of sci-fi/conspiracy/illuminati theories: The style is technical and progressive. Music is very soundtracky/spacey too as far as metal goes... Check them out! Here are links to a couple of songs: This one specially is very sci-fi/soundtrack...

Extreme/Technical Progressive metal band - GODS OF EDEN

Thanks man I try and write the stuff and make it as interesting and varied as possible... since even I get really bored of straight technical metal after a while! I grew up on flamenco and classical cause of my Spanish/South American background so it's always been a very big part of my writing...

Extreme/Technical Progressive metal band - GODS OF EDEN

Yeah man just a bit of EQ and like it's been mentioned here too i usually take a lot of the lower frequencies off . even tho it tends to sound thinner because of the amount of stuff going out i think it works better for clarity. Apart from that just the usual compression, limiter, clipper to...

Extreme/Technical Progressive metal band - GODS OF EDEN

Yeah that's the one thing I have the biggest issue with.. making the really fast kicks sound decent.. I have heard some other bands use sound replacement and make it sound quite good but I can't seem to find how they have done it. Such a shame cause at rehearsal those parts are really powerful...

Extreme/Technical Progressive metal band - GODS OF EDEN

Thanks Dan :) Yeah the drums are a bit different from the normal Superior 2.0 sound I have heard from others too.. I think it was all the extra EQ I did afterwards. Overall this song I think reached around 50+ tracks.. so had to make sure everything was panned differently so they didn't clash...

Extreme/Technical Progressive metal band - GODS OF EDEN

Thanks for listening man, glad you enjoy the songs! Do you mean EQ on the acoustic guitars??? As for mixing yeah definitely everything is mixed.. I double tracked all the acoustics and panned them hard left/right with all the leads around usually 50/50 and if there were three harmonies like in...

New tech/prog/soundtrack influenced metal band - Home Recording

Just thought I would share my latest band recording with you guys here, after spending quite a few years experimenting with quite a lot of effects/pre-amps, impulse responses etc.. I have finally found what I believe to be a decent sounding home recording and EP quality. Actually I learned a lot...

New tech/prog/soundtrack influenced metal band from Sydney

We're a new band from Sydney called "Gods of Eden" we play what you could probably describe as technical/progressive metal with soundtrack influences. Lyrical themes deal in such themes as conspiracies, alternate histories, dystopia, ufology and much more. We have 2 songs up from our upcoming...

Thanks Brady for taking the time to listen! When you were talking about raw files do you mean like clean d.i's of everything etc..? so that you guys can have a go at re-amping and that kind of thing? I've done the best I can with the plug in's i have available but after hearing quite few demos...
