Just picked up an EVH 50w.... great little amp. I can't believe these retail for only $999.

Seems like the evh 50w is the winner so far.... no more votes for the older ones or newer peavey models? i thought there would be stronger opinions about those on this forum.

one thing im worried about is whether you can get the same kind of brutal raw tones out of the newer ones...they seem almost too refined. have you tried the 100w stealth model?

I have a large amp collection (bit of a whore) and one glaring omission is some sort of 5150. I really like the EVH and am leaning towards the 50w version, mainly due to price. But before I commit, I thought I would see if there are any strong opinions on here as the "the" version to get since...

Been checking around to try and make some shirts for my band and can't seem to find anything lower than 14-15 a shirt. Wtf...not trying to make a bunch of money or anything but I remember them being much cheaper years ago. Just trying to get 15-20 tees (some black some white) with a grayscale...

YMMV indeed. I think the production grabbed me more (hard not to without the brickwall mix) and they also seem more focused on this album. death magnetic had a lot of thrashier riffs, which i like, but the vocals to me are much stronger on the new one and the direction of the band seems a lot...

damn that ended too soon, could have watched another 30-40 min of that easy

still trying to find that perfect kick sample... this mix is as good as it gets for something with low tuned guitar and bass imho

you know what makes this much more enjoyable for me? if i think of metallica as a really heavy rock band instead of a thrash band that used to be good in the 80s. that said, i think this album is much better than death magnetic and the mix definitely seems better on the newest videos for some...

do they make a 7 string version of the dimarzio dominion? thats my favorite budget passive at the moment.

gary said in a couple interviews he is running a profile of his modded '87 marshall when they play live... i would guess that the same profile was used for the album. def sounds like t75 speakers too so i would guess marshall cab.

sounds great. too bad it wont repair the ear raping from the dozens of guys i have seen use this same setup live and fail miserably :p

good for songwriting and practice and thats about it. gets no use whatsoever since i got my kemper.

makes sense, i was thinking it sounded kind of like the mid/high end of a dual rec. thats interesting about the layering of multiple compressors/limiters. i have tried that before but i think i probably worked each one too hard instead of just "kissing" each one. awesome job all around!
