Any info on upcoming Darkthrone album?

Derivative and boring like all of their albums since (and including) Ravishing Grimness.

The best metal since At the Gates

A boring rehash of Carcass - Heartwork with some Dark Tranquillity thrown in so no, I didn't forget it.

    What about 1988?!

That's because Persecution Mania is 87, not 88.

The best metal since At the Gates

The only four full-length gothenburg metal albums worth mentioning: Eucharist - A Velvet Creation Dark Tranquillity - Skydancer At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul Eucharist - Mirrorworlds The rest are just plain crap and rehash of the old albums.

Who is the guitar god of death metal?

His solos are almost always very similar to each other i.e. once you've heard one, you've heard them all. Only on Symbolic and more so on TSOP did he have some more memorable and different solos.

are there any females in thrash or power metal?

Holy Moses is a thrash band centered around a female vocalist Sabina Classen with quite an extensive discography. They broke up in 1994 but reformed in 2001 or so and have already released an album and an EP. Meanstreak is an all female thrash band that released one album in 1988 and folded...

Who is the guitar god of death metal?

Well, as you said, his solos ARE some of the most boring ever and as a rhythm player, he isn't that special when it comes to death metal. Technically he might be proficient but as a guitarist, he tends to be boring.

    Next album... black metal?!

Not black metal in anyway. Seriously, you people know next to nothing about black metal. Making a black metal album isn't something you just decide all of a sudden and making a black metal album certainly doesn't equal putting some keyboard melodies a la Cradle of Filth or Dimmu Borgir into...

Who is the guitar god of death metal?

Chuck was merely mediocre as a guitarist, excellent as a songwriter. His solos are mostly quite a bore. He did have a knack for getting some really amazing second guitarists to his band. Most of the time he was outshined by them except when his band become not-death metal. I don't pay that...

    Of Wolf & Man

I believe the song is called Hymne IV - Wolf And Man, not Of Wolf And Man. Anyways, the beginning of the song is quite a bore but it improves towards the ending.

    Annihilator

Stonewall is actually the worst song on that album. Alice In Hell, Never Neverland and Carnival Diablos are all quite good (Alice In Hell even excellent) but the other stuff they've made isn't that good. You haven't heard much then, have you? The 80's had lots of thrash acts that were...

    Grindcore

Repulsion's Horrified is one hell of an album!

what do you European guys think of Nile?

They have some decent songs but all in all, quite boring a band. Give me Suffocation, Vital Remains, Spawn of Possession, Decapitated, Immolation or any actually interesting brutal death metal band over them anyday.

What makes a death metal vocalist good?

Well, what really makes an ordinary vocalist good? Technicality? Hardly! If you think that way, you shouldn't be listening to metal anyways. It's all a matter of subjective taste.

    Malevolent Creation

I find it hard to find music that gets on my nerves so most music that get deemed bad from my part are usually so because they are boring.

    Malevolent Creation

I like their early stuff quite much but Envenomed mostly just bored me as did the couple of tracks I heard from The Will To Kill.

    Opeth's metal influences?

Early Carcass is quite excellent mixture of grindcore and death metal but by the time of Heartwork most of that had been dropped. No grind is seen on that album and the death metal influences are very slight too.

    Most disturbing lyrics

And most other preachy christian metal bands.

    What about fast death metal?

That's a problem in most metal live shows, not just Hate Eternal. I don't like blastbeats at all but Hate Eternal do have their moments.
