    maple vs rosewood

yeah, the rosewood thing going out of tune is kinda bs, reminds me of my friend who has a les paul and had just got a new nylon string and it had a bone nut, so I told my friend that my nut was way better than his and he went to the guitar store to get it replaced, despite it making very little...

Michael Romeo + Michael Angelo = Guitar Heaven

just my opinion, but I'd really rather listen to just romeo, as I find angelo's music pretty boring. Who knows though, maybe I would find a collaboration interesting if I heard it.

    musicians!

i play classical guitar and electric, if I had the time I'd learn piano, since most of the music I like most is on piano, predominantly from the romantic era.

    classical guitar

I have sueno by tarrega in my big binder of classical guitar music that i print off whenever i see. barrios' sueno en la floresta is far more difficult then any of the mentioned ones, but I dont find it as interesting as the others asides from one small part in it that i like. Also, you have...

    classical guitar

you are a bastard for seeing john williams. I'm performing at bars for 6 hours tonight, so im pretty nervous about that. Anyways, I've decided recuerdoes is the next piece im going to learn after my auditions, I've leardned the first half of another tremelo(alm for the love of god) which my...

    classical guitar

well im decent I suppose, but I still have to work out plenty of tone and technique issues. Anyways, yes that gigue is amazing, in fact, the whole suite is. If you like the gigue, check out the double(may have heard it), it's basically a fast variation on the gigue. I've been working on the...

I lost my virginity to Evil Eye by Malmsteen!

hmmm.. honestly, most of the music i listened to was when getting head in a car. I know I have put on some death metal once, just for the effect, as well as some 50 cent

    classical guitar

haha, i havent reached a reasonable level, I have to play that bourree along with the allemande from the same suite and a few other pieces for an audition in a month. I've been playing electric for about 3 1/2 years, but Ive only done classical seriously since last fall, and I have yet to find...

Who's stuff is the most diffucult to play(guit.)

Playing paganini's 24 caprices on guitar is probably just about the toughest thing out there. Check out www.eliotfisk.com where he plays a short snippet of no.5. He also has a cd of all 24, which I have. Try hearing someone play villa-lobos etude no.2, now those arpeggio's will blow your...

    classical guitar

I took the year off of school to practice for classical, I have auditions coming up in february/march. I usually play 6+ hours a day minimum right now since I have plenty of free time, and the only job I have is playing guitar a couple nights a week. Anyways, I definitely started off with...

what's some good classical music to listen to?

haha, sorry fpr the mix up, I didnt intend to say chopin or liszt wrote for guitar. I do like a lot of sor, but i really tend to dislike his studies, which are his most popular pieces in many guitar circles. Weiss had a lot of baroque stuff that I find quite interesting that has been...

    classical guitar

What he probably meant is some of the stuff I'm going through, not the pieces being constraining, but all the technique issues. Whereas in electric guitar, whatever works for you is fine, where in classical it's quite different. Your nails have to be a certain length, you have to prepare your...

    Steve Vai

I f you think this, check out kazohito yamashita. This guy is a classical guitar player who is japanese, his father relentlessly trained him and his sister from as soon as they were able to play. He trained them so hard the sister went insane and is in an insane asylum. He's credited with...

what's some good classical music to listen to?

dont think anyone has mentioned any classical guitar composers. Agustin Barrios Mangore is by far the best in my opinion. Do everything you can to hear la catedral and an alm for the love of god. Other then that, Bach's lute suites are amazing. Chopin Liszt villa-lobos francisco tarrega

    classical guitar

with all this classical themed music these days, does anyone actually play classical guitar? I do and am going to school for it next fall, but in the guitar chapter Micahel Romeo says he took some lessons with classical guitar, but didnt have enough discipline, how much hope do I have...

I dont know about straight alternate picking with no left hand work, but I got up to 170 cleanly doing chromatics and 180 it got really sloppy, still working on it though!!!!
