What band shirts do you have?

Got over 100 shirts. I like tour shirts with gig dates on best. I guess my prize possessions are my Slayer Reign in Blood Tour shirt from 1987, Obituary Cause of Death tour shirt 1990, Cannibal Corpse Butchered at birth tour 1990. Carcass Gods of grind tour 1992, Massacre From Beyond tour 1991...

Misanthrope, I think are French. Very weird, technical metal. Mixture of thrash and death.

    80s metal chicks pages?

Its funny cos in the 80's, the male Glam fans looked exactly the same as the metal chicks in the pic posted by Dumbass. Great pic.

    Lars speaks.

Doesnt really matter what Lars says now, the fact remains that Metallica were one of the founders of Thrash and they were brilliant in the 80's, their prime time. Anyone who ever saw them live during this time I'm sure will agree, they were amazing to watch. All albums including AJFA are awesome...

    Limbonic Art

Limbonic Art are one of those bands that I think are hard to categorise. Their music is bludgeoning, but classy, melodic but not ponsy like Dimmu and structured with complexity that most bands couldnt possibly try to match. Its a pity they've split up. All thw Limbonic releases are cool. I also...

    Rhapsody

Cool band in the studio, but they're messy live imo. Drummer can't handle the really fast double bass beats for long periods. Guitarist is great, though the whole band is a little "posy" on stage for my liking. I absolutely love Holy Thunderforce, Rage of the Winter and Eternal Glory. Thought...

    Pig Destroyer

Good band, saw them live and they were devastating. The guitar playing is fantastic imo. Better than vast majority of grindcore bands, cos at least they vary their music a lot. Grindcore is great so long as albums are 30 minutes or less. Nasum still rated as the best for me in this genre.

I've thought about putting vinyl onto the PC but as said previously it takes quite a lot of time. Might give it a go when I've got more time. Thanks for the offer.

    need old school help

Glad it has helped. Good luck in finding this album on CD, cos I dont think it was put out on CD. If you find it then post msg here with who is distributing it please. I have the vinyl, but would like to put it on my mp3 player.

    razor

Razor are a very cool band. Their album Evil Invaders gave Slayer's Reign In Blood a real run for its money when it came out imo. They really started out as very fast heavy/speed metal band until they put out the mighty Evil Invaders, which deserves a place in every single metal collection in...

    need old school help

Its definitely No Mercy. Song is actually called I'm your Nightmare (not We're Evil, my mistake) from the album Widespread bloodshed, love runs red. Album is very hard to find. Good thrash metal, with obvious Suicidal influences seeing as 2 of their members were in the project. If you need any...

"I'm your fucking nightmare" is from a No Mercy song called We're Evil. Side project of Suicidal Tendencies.

    Children of Bodom

Definitely Power Metal, and they are extremely over rated in my humble opinion. They only stand out cos of harsh vocals.

    Only Metal?

I think some aspects of what has been said in this thread are true, but I get the distinct impression from metallers are having to justify listening only to metal. Metal offers everything I need in music, eg aggression, technical ability, passion, fun, etc etc, so I don't really need to listen...

I'm almost done cataloguing my entire \m/ CD collection

I catalogue my stuff for insurance purposes a few years ago, as I was told it is classed as a high risk item due to its value. Some places wouldn't even insure me because of it. Contains 1500CDs, 650 Vinyl, plus about 200 tapes.

    venom they own us all

You had a good 5 or 6 years on me it looks like in gig terms. First band I saw was Rainbow at the Liverpool Royal Court theatre in Sept 1983. I remember going cos we got a flat tyre on the way and we worried we wouldn't get there in time. Also Saxon, Whitesnake, Uli Jon Roth Lindisfarne, Dio...
