Thinking about setting up my ESP 7 string in drop A with a normal 25 1/2" scale length. Was thinking about going with a set of 10-52s and a 68 for the low A. Other than needing a truss rod adjustment and filing down the nut - are there any problems I could experience with this? I know some of you are using heavier sets on regular scale length guitars. Thanks.

.68 on a 25.5 is a great gauge. My buddy has that gauge string on his 7 string in dropped A with no issue. I'd prefer a .70, but it comes down to taste.

OVer 70 would certainly be to tight to still have a chuggy sound, I wouldn't do that.
For me, I use 70s on a 25.5 for drop G#, so I'd say 68 should work very well if you want it somewhat tight, you can go as low as 62 though.
