headphones pre-amp for mixing?

hello i decide to buy audiotechnica headphones (i don't remember model but it cost 150 on thomann)
and i need to recomend me a good headphones pre-amp to get the best from the headphones

Honestly I do alot of stuff using the in built headphone amp on my Macbook and get on ok. I feel that as long as the amp is ok driving the headphones you're using then I don't find there to be any real difference.

I'd just use what you have, headphone out.

I use an M-audio Transit USB with my Macbook Pro.
The built in DAC is terrible. Muddy transient smearing and distorted highs.
The difference with the transit is huge.
The good thing is you selected as your audio output and the regular volume controls (f10,11,12) work.
