I know how you feel - I had the same experience just before Torn came out, never heard of them at that point (I'am not a metalhead) until I saw Tom's name on Ayreon's 01011001 album, and I though; "Hmm A Swede need to check was else he has done...." - and thats how I found Evergrey they totally blowed me away for about a year I did'nt listen to anything else.
