How does this snare sound?

Hey guys I was hoping to get opinions on this snare. I've always had trouble getting a good snare sound. I think this is personally my best snare so I thought I'd share a short mix with it.

Any opinion/feedback is welcome, from brutal to compliments. I just want feedback

It seems like there's quite an aggressive compression, there's too much of that sharp attack. But I think the fundamental/original tone of the snare is good so you might tweak it a little more. For start, try with less compression and also maybe try to find where is this mid-bass bump that also a little bit exaggerated... Hope it helps.

^ I agree. However, I'd also suggest adding much more room, maybe use a transient designer to get some more sustain in the tone, and then send it to a nice plate reverb in order to have a snare create its own space in the mix. At the moment, the snare has a big attack, but not much else.

I'd be nice to get opinions on that whole mix actually. Thanks though for the feedback, I'm trying to work on my snares. The song in my Signature is my older snare for reference.I did cut a few more little cuts/moved some of the EQ around.
