You have been recording at home for quite some time, thrown away tons of time testing crappy software and plugins, your hair is white from DAW crashes..

Hopefully after all this time, you now have a SWEET SETUP.
Your latency is low, no crackling when recording, you got all plugs you need, your system just WORKS! Phew, nice, finally!

I think it will be interesting to share your setups, for inspiration to both those that still are not satisfied and those who are.

Heres mine:

Hardware
Core i7 laptop 8GB ram (Asus G73SW)
Steinberg CI2 Audio Interface

Software
Windows 7 64-bit
Reaper 64-bit

VST
Fabfilter pack for mixing (really nice eq and stuff)
Izotope Ozone for mastering
Amplitube 3 for guitar and bass

VSTi
Addictive Drums with addons for drums (metalpack is very nice)
Omnisphere for synths
The Grand for piano

One important thing to add, the program "Latencymon" for reducing the system latency, so you can put your buffering as low as possible.
