Hey guys...
After having a little bit of trouble setting up Superior in Logic I finally had the chance to record a very short tone test. My ears are tired and I'm not really satisfied with the outcome yet but - give it a listen please.

Maybe you can give me some hints. Somehow I fear that my "ghetto-mastering" eats a bit of the snare-attack. I always loved the snare-sounds I heard coming from DFHS. Mine is close, but I feel it's missing something.

EDIT:
Altered Velocity-Levels and Room-Mics.

EDIT 2:
Tweaked the drum-sound again

First of all, cool clip!

But the snare, it IS missing something.. to me (if this was a real drummer) it sounds like the mic's volume on the snare is turned on really, really loud... and the drummer is hitting it gently and not hard at all.

I dont have DFHS2 yet, but check your velocity settings Joe.. it sounds like it's on 60-70% instead of 100% or over 100%.

Could it really be THAT easy?!?

Checked the velocities. A couple of the hits were at about 90-95. I raised the velocity to about 100 in the faster parts and to 110-127 in the mid-tempos, where a real drummer would hit the snare as hard as possible.
Seems like Superior has a smaller "sweet-spot" than I was used to.
