textures: silhouettes guitar tone

Hi! I'm very impressed by the guitar sound in the new album of Textures, I think that it's one of the most crunchy and powerful guitar tone I've ever heard, specially in the beginning of "the sun's architect".

I think that this tone is from a mesa dual rectifier, but i'm not sure. Does someone know how to get this sound? Will I be able to get a similar tone with a rectifier recording preamp conected to my computer and using impulses?

Jochem said it was done with a 5150 that had been modded, but I'm not sure how it was modded. I'm guessing bias mod, maybe something like FJA can do? In any case, it sounds like a very well produced, low-gained 5150 tone to me.
