Artists, poets, song-writers? I think one of the best parts of Nightwish for me is how it puts me in an inspirational mood and I just want to DO and BE and CREATE.

This thread is for examples of that.......... and it doesn't have to just be something like art but maybe Nightwish inspired you to do something nice for someone, or to take a walk to the ocean, or anything..........

I have been wanting to write this poem ever since I can remember but was only able to get it into words this weekend:

"Oceansoul"
Deep within twilight
I still hear her calling,
a haunting voice
singing beneath the expanse

It is the stroke of memory
inside my hollow places
Soul of the seas, call to me

I ache for her warmth,
she was the sway
that ebbs and
flows around me
soft as a scent,
smoother than silk

But the tides pull in,
pull away
She is everpresent
but ever
below the surface
Ever cool

In forgotten times,
the lady was more than a capella amaranth
moonbeams played across her azure, reflecting emerald
She was the fragile supernova before collapse

There was a village that she loved,
as she loved all
The village grew into a world
but with it rose the gore
Pale brine frothed down her cheeks
at their cruelty

The sweet sting of her black currant
circled around them
a warning, a pleading
but their malice was a plague
They fed her the souls she could not help but swallow

Once upon a mid-morn hour
the lady's waters ran cold
The damned flesh drifted through her,
blue and empty

The lady's tears
pounded across the land
Her rain brewed into a maelstrom
that devoured her heart

Her rage snuffed the stars,
Her wrath drew down the night

The strike of lightning burned to the ground
what little was left of who she drowned

There was never hate
only justice.

Blackened like the sky,
she fades back into the waves,
sinks into the depths
alone

Ok guys, let's keep it civil. This means no name calling. This also includes not belittling the creative efforts of others. We don't do that here. The OSA has always strived and mostly succeeded at being a supportive community. If you don't like something, try to find a more constructive way to express what it is that you don't like, or simply say nothing at all.

I'm not going to lock this thread yet. We've had success in the past with this kind of topic, just keep in mind what i've said.

I think it's rather nice. I'm not very much into English poetry right now but I think you have a very beautiful way of formulating it. IMO it's a great thing Nightwish can inspire people to write stuff of their own. :)
