Oh Hell...since this is still going. I was watching that voyeuristically dreadful "Some Kind of Monster" on the tube the other night and I was just sickened by the studio-portions where the "Anger" tunes are featured prominently. The stuff is just so BAD...unspeakably, inexcusably bad. Hetfield may be exorcising demons, and bully for him if that helps, but by god, what horrible caterwauling he unleashes, what insipid lyrics, what...sheer cheesiness they foisted upon the metal world!
I am no Metallica hater - well I wasn't always anyway. I once held tremendous respect for them. Seeing Metallica back on the Kill 'Em All tour in 1984 was a near religious experience for me. Thus, it makes St. Anger and all its attendant emotional baggage that much more disappointing, if not depressing. How the mighty have fallen...
