Thanks Shreddy! I am so there! I was a huge fan as a kid and I still am a fan now. One of the things that I was thankful to find in the muck after Katrina was my die cast speed Racer collection, battered and peeling, but still able to make me smile! 
BTW, the man in black in the trailer, sometimes it doesn't look like Racer X... Captain Terror maybe?
