WARMACHINE Confirmed For "Nightmare Metal Fest"

Toronto-based metallers WARMACHINE have been confirmed for the Nightmare Fest, a brand new festival set to take place March 21-22 at Bourbon Street in New Port Richey, Florida. Also scheduled to appear are CAGE, DISASTERPEACE (the new band featuring singer Wade Black [CRIMSON GLORY, SEVEN WITCHES, LEASH LAW, BLACK REIGN, LEATHERWOLF], former KING DIAMOND guitarist master Pete Blakk, renowned drummer Jesse Martillo [CRIMSON GLORY] and bassist Chris Baylor) and SHADES OF TWILIGHT.

The event is the brainchild of Lance King — owner of Nightmare Records and former frontman of BALANCE OF POWER and PYRAMAZE.

According to Lance, "Friday will be a shorter night of 4-5 bands and Saturday will be an all-day metal extravaganza. A few local headliners and a lot of Nightmare's finest bands will be here to perform....This is just the beginning of things to come!"

Check out a poster for the festival at this location.

WARMACHINE played a release party for the group's DVD, "Raw in the Hammer", on September 8, 2007 at The Kathedral in Toronto. The disc contains footage from the band's January 20, 2007 concert at The Underground in Hamilton, a documentary on the band's history, behind-the-scenes footage and more.

A live video of WARMACHINE version of the MEGADETH classic "Tornado of Souls", which appears on the "Raw in the Hammer" DVD, can be viewed below.

WARMACHINE's debut album, "The Beginning of the End", was released in 2006 in North America via Nightmare Records.

"The Beginning of the End" features a guest appearance on three tracks ("Betrayed", "Empty" and "Taunted Souls") by former MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson.

“Its all about escapism,” says Scott Waldrop, guitarist for Twisted Tower Dire. It’s the antithesis of bands like R.E.M. or Pearl Jam. For me, Power Metal, or traditional Metal, is like a soundtrack for slaying the singer of Creed."
