When the progressive bands of the 70's faded away (or converted to progressive crap like Kansas) I got heavily into the UK prog scene (referred to by many as "neo-prog") and became fans of bands like IQ, Marillion, Arena and Pendragon. Many of the musicians over there play in several bands (Marillion's original drummer hooked up with Pendragon's keyboardist Clive Nolan to form Arena, John Jowitt played bass for both IQ and Arena, etc.). Below is a video of Pendragon's "Paintbox" performed by lead vocalist/guitarist Nick Barrett and keyboardist Clive Nolan. I love these guys. I know most of you have never heard of them or won't like them (Nick actually sings using his heavy British accent), but I consider this a gem. I also love the lyrics. Being an artist the use of metaphors are very close and personal to me.
