OK I read the first page... lol I dont really keep up with the latest music. But of a few bands I can think of over the years that did kick back to more traditional hardrock were The Black Crows but that was late 80's. Buckcherry is pretty good from the few songs I heard, they have two guitar players that dont actually play the same thing and you cant do a bar gig without playin "Crazy Bitch", I was surprised but the girls really get into that song, they sing along, shake that thang.... go figure
Clutch is pretty damn good

everything is so fused today its hard to classify music really

those "pop metal" bands from the 80's everyone is trying to call hardrock today ? forget about it, they were pop metal bands/commercial metal or just plain metal, even if they used some more traditional rock progressions in some songs they were still metal, they used the palm mute power pedals, metal lead guitar antics some albums even had an actually "heavy metal" song from time to time. They were very much part of the "Metal" scene, in fact most of those guitarists wrote the book on metal guitar playing... same goes for many of the drummers... sorry but you cant rewrite history. The 80's was METAL!
