Are people not allowed to change their opinions when new information is brought before them?
If all you had ever eaten was cheeseburgers and you loved them and declared them the best food ever, and then one day someone gives you filet mignon and you say "Wow, this is way better then a cheeseburger!" Does that mean you now hate cheeseburgers? No, but you can certainly now change your opinion that one is tastier than the other because you've now had the opportunity to try both.
I loved Epica at ProgPower. In fact, I've loved them every time I've seen them. Does that mean when a different singer comes along with Epica as a fill-in who blows me out of the water like Amanda did the other night that I'm going to completely ignore that? No. Does that mean I should not comment on how that other singer was significantly better than someone I already thought was awesome, and now I maybe only think of as good, because I have a new spectrum for comparison?
I don't think changing you position on something makes you a hypocrite if it involves a change in mind because you've learned something new.
