People clearing out their lofts for house-moving, and people who really can't be arsed with eBay, I guess. It would have been a real shame, anyway, as they're all in such fantastic condition. I really don't have the space for them myself, but I had to do my civic duty as a classic pew-pew wonk.

Fuck man, sonic 3 has to be my favourite of the megadrive sonics, and up there with the master system sonic 1.
The songs, the graphics, level design, all top notch.

Ah, Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Playing through them together is what the mid-nineties were all about. The soundtrack picked up so much when Jun Senoue took over, and even then 1 and 2 were pretty tough to beat.
Makes me want to crack out the emulators and do it all again.

First Mega Man 10 images (featuring the best boss ever).
Also: Get this, ya bams. It's awesome, it's region-free, and supporting it may well ensure that the forthcoming ports of Ketsui and Espgaluda II are released in the UK. Last edited by Yogge-Sothothe : December 10th, 2009 at 05:12 PM. |

You know who the worst people in the world are? Like, the proper fucking scum of the Earth? The people who create pages for games they've no intention of ever deigning to pad out with a bit of, y'know, elucidating infor-cunting-mation. This goes double if their pages have the temerity to invite you to do the leg-work. Useless sacks of 'hit'-seeking shit. I hope they all die of bollock cancer.

I would say the people in the US government who hold back the empirical evidence of extraterrestrial life are worse. Cunts!

Aye, I'm sort of naturally predisposed to hate sandbox games, but I've finally gotten around to playing GTAIV, and it's pretty much consumed my entire week. Ace game. Great characters, too - it still makes me laugh that people will waffle endlessly on about boring cookie-cutter JRPG characters. This game's characterisation is actually "getting there", which is a fucking astounding achievement, really.
The driving is great when you get the hang of it, and some of the mission set-pieces are spot-on, but I have to admit the most fun I've had so far was in chasing a random Big Fat Man down several streets, gently nudging him and making him comically overbalance until he eventually got too tired (or scared) to stand up and sat there trembling. I second that. The first game was pretty good for it's time too, although it fell through the cracks a bit. I'm not interested in anything western all that much really, but I feel it would be a nice twist as opposed to a majority of the games out now days. I also enjoyed Gun when it first came out o_o Idk how much shit I'm going to get for that, but....

Man, the XBLA Christmas deals are looking bollocks. I thought they'd be offering a few games for half price, or something, but so far they've just been giving away accessories for your (utterly soulless and boring) avatar to wear. Oh well, Mushi Futari soon!
They should do an Avatar avatar. That'd be post-structuralist-as-fuck. Last edited by Yogge-Sothothe : December 19th, 2009 at 06:41 AM. |

It's absolutely right to say that most modern JRPGs are pretty much creatively bankrupt, but dying? Not a chance. That shit still sells like hot heroin-laced cakes, and even if their audience was massively diminished overnight, you only have to look at shmups (a genre touted as 'dying' since about 1990, but which still does alright for itself and is still highly innovative) to see that the remaining spikey-hair faithful wouldn't have too much to worry about in the long run.
