DVD burners (need help)

I'm interested in buying a DVD burner sometime soon.

I saw this one, which seems pretty nice and at a very good value:

Are there anything I should look out for when buying a DVD burner? Which brands do you recommend? Are certain burners picky about the blank media it uses?

make sure its at least 8X capable and double layer
Get that one or you can get a nice new Sony double layer for 200$ lol
