Never Winter Nights 2
Back in the days, I was a bigfan of the first one and Baldur's Gate. For a long time now I haven't played much computer games, but then I saw that this was coming out and I'm thinking of buying it. Does anyone have it? Is it good? Also, my computer is a couple of years old, do you think I'll still be able to play it?

Probably not. From what I hear it's requirements are obscenly high for some reason.
MINIMUM requirements: Windows XP Pentium 4 2.4 GHz or Athlon XP 2000 or equivalent 512 MB RAM 5.5 GB hard disk space DirectX 9.0c GeForce 6600 or Radeon 9700 Pro graphics card with PS 2.0 or better |

Been playing LOTR - Shadows of Angmar, as a beta tester ... very impressive. Much better than WOW

So far the game is just amazing, from being visually stunning to its vastness (it is just huge) I started as a Hobit and everything feels like you are in LOTR 's world.
The towns, landscapes are full of life. The good thing I really like so far are the one person instances, the fact that some quests require you to group with people in a fellowship. There is no PVP but a lot more emphasis on character building with traits that can be earned, titles, exploration. It's still beta, but so far, it's looking good, still too much lag in high populated areas such as towns. Right now, I am still trying to figure out the profession system. Between WOW, SWG and this one, LOTR gets my vote. It is the best graphics on a MMORPG, will remain so until Age of Conan comes out (supposed to use DX10). As for NVW2, I would rather buy the Obilivion's expansion. After over 100+ hours of gameplay one can still remain busy in Oblivion.

Btw, computer gaming (and some extend graphical applications, servers) is what keeps the computer industry going and bringing new records to the industry. You sure as hell don't need a dual core, 3gb or ram, 2 sata 300gb HD, watercooling system for your cpu; to download music, watch porn, or use MS Office. 2007 is going to be an expensive year if you are into building your own system. Now a good video card can cost you almost 1/2 of your pc budget if you don't want to buy a low end card. Just as example, the shitty PS3 will be obsolete vs pc gaming in less than 6 months, but most people can't just shell out 2K$ for a top of the line gaming system. |

I think what's a shame about PC role playing games like NWN etc is that you dont get to fight and block yourself like on that Baldur's gate game that came to PS2 and some other consols. It's just way more gun than clicking on hwhere you want to go and who you want to attack. You people agree?

NWN2 is pretty kickass. Doesn't run great on my system, mostly due to a low budget video card, but it runs alright. Still fairly buggy, but I'm looking forward to when the persistent worlds get up and going well. That's the one advantage it has over Oblivion... multiplayer and PvP.
