Testament was rather boring. Don't like their music, sounds OLD I guess. Their singer grabs a mic with a piece of the stand still attached to it and pretends to play the guitar for the whole show. Why can't he just learn to play the guitar and really play instead of standing there like an idiot? The vocals had the delay effect all the way up which made them sound bad. Also, too much treble. Yesterday's show sucked because of sound issues. Most bands had problems with the lead guitar or the vocals. Best shows were All that remains, Shadows Fall, Amon Amarth and Darkest Hour. All that remains took like 1 hour to get on stage and the vocals could not be heard. The music was awesome though. Shadows Fall's lead guitar was never heard. Best guitar player right now and his solos were to himself! Amon Amarth's set was very good, but very short. Good sound, though the voice could have been a bit louder (it might have been that we were all singing though) Gwar had the best sound IMO, lead guitar could be heard, vocals were good. I just don't like their freak show. I go to shows for the music! Needless to say, we skipped 10 minutes into the Gwar set and made it to a KFC in time since we were starving! |

what's going on during Goatwhore shows' nowdays?, I don't recall seeing anything out of ordinary in the few performances I've seen in the years past Quote:

They re-recorded some old stuff and put it out as the cd First Strike Still Deadly, that's pretty good. There's also Live in London which is (obviously) a live album from kinda recently. And they did another greatest hits type cd this year I think, can't remember the name. Hasn't been a new album since '99 though, but one is due out around the end of the year if I remember right.

Question for you... In between the sets, they would play music over the speakers, and a few times a song by (I THINK) Godsmack was playing. Do you know what song that was? |

Winston-Salem 16 July 2007
I have been a fan of AA since 2003. Undoubtedly my favorite band. I drove 3 1/2 hours to see them in Winston Salem, North Carolina. They did not show. I thought all was lost and I thought this was confirmed when I heard talk of Gwar not playing. I told my friend that we were leaving if that rumor was confirmed. All of the bands were terrible/near terrible with exception of Chimaira. At the end Gwar saved the day. The money/time spent was not in vain thanks to the Legend that is Gwar. One band sticks in my mind like a knife in my brain. It was unbelievably awful. The crowd booed them off the stage! That band is Necro. I hope the lot of you yet to attend this shitty assemblage of trash are luckier than myself. Last I saw AA was in December 2005 in Atlanta, Georgia. They played 5 songs then much like they are doing on this tour. Children of Bodom put on a great show that day. I hear that they do so always. Ave...
Yes, the hardcore losers were in full force! I met one fellow there wearing an Iron Maiden shirt. He had drove down from Kentucky. He came to see Amon Amarth and Gwar like myself. He was deeply dissapointed and I felt a spiritual bond with the fellow. Amon Amarth fans are true. I was the only one that I noticed with an AA shirt as well. The USA is a wasteland when it comes to an appropriate reception for truly great bands!

A fellow told me that the bus they were riding in had been in an accident and one of their axles damaged. So it was due to repairs according to him. I honestly do not have a clue why they did not show with exception of what I was told.
The doors to the Millenium Center were supposed to open at 1 p.m. I had obtained the times for Amon Amarth from their website so I showed up a little after 4 p.m. The idea was to go in right before they went on stage and then suffer the rest until Gwar. When I made it to the venue the doors were still closed and a long line awaited entry. So I walked to the back of it with my friend Ben. He spotted a small flyer taped to a light pole that said something to the effect: Due to unforeseen circumstances the following bands will not be performing today... Amon Amarth was on that list. I felt like I was going to explode. The fellow in front of me looked at my tee and said "your band isn't coming...how shitty." I told him that I drove 3 1/2 hours for 'my band'. He said that AA was a great band and he was disappointed as well. After that I left the line and went to Cracker Barrel to get some homecooked food. I figured that if you must suffer it makes sense to at least have a good meal. ![]()

just as I thought, makes you wonder why they don't double up / caravan in pairs at least when driving just in case to cover unforseen shit like that, oh well, better you than me, I feel you though
![]() similar shit happened to me in Atlanta to which I had to drive 2 hours only to find out that Bolt Thrower isn't showing up, Benediction made up for it though ![]() Quote:

Yeah, I'd be pissed, seeing as I'd only be going for them. I hope the winter tour rumors are true.

Yeah, I really hope they come back this fall / Winter.
About Necro, What the hell is that? Why are they even part of this metal line-up? I was front row, right against the bars @ the NJ show and my head was down the entire set while Necro did their stupid thing. I only stayed because Shadows Fall was coming soon after and I love them. Amon Amarth's set felt the shortest. I don't know it if was 'cause they were that good, or it really was short ![]() |

Toronto show last night was wicked, obviously a short set, but it was great. Meet and greet with the band just about didn't happen because they rotate the bands each day (according to a person working). The website states that the meet and greet would be around 1:30pm, so a few other AA fans and myself start waiting at the meet and greet area for the couple of hours till their set, and then back again. After supper break, went back to see that at 8pm Amon Amarth will be doing the meet and greet, due to popular demand by us the fans. It was great and well worth the wait. It better have been because they were the only reason why I went to the show in the first place. Can't wait for the headlining tour this fall!!!

Because I don't share your taste in music?
Or because I go to shows to listen to music, with no drugs or alcohol to impare my judgement of what I thing sounds good or not? For a guy with 7K post, I'm guessing you never care to read what others have to say, and instead you just open your big mouth to say whatever dumb thing your little brain can process! |
