Occupation: Store clerk, in a store that sells mopeds, car parts and stereos and stuff like that. Kinda strange how I got a job there, since I know jack about cars, least of all how to drive one. Oh well, must be because I'm so freakin' charming

Musical Tastes: Mainly metal, but with frequent excursions into other things. I actually dig Justin Timberlake, no shit!

Favorite Band: Mastodon, Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Death, Emperor, Arsis, Jethro Tull, Caravan (any 70s prog really), Black Fuckin' Sabbath, Thin Lizzy and Morbid Angel.

Favorite Album: Hmm, an awful lot. Currently the most played:
"Live And Dangerous" - Thin Lizzy.. RAWK!!!
"Prometheus -The Discipline Of Fire and Demise" - Emperor.
"Pink Moon" - Nick Drake

Favorite Producer: Steven Wilson, The Sneapster, Scott Burns, Timbaland (yeah, and?!), Dj Premier (soundtrack to my adolescence, still awesome to this day), Ihsahn, Daniel Bergstrand

Production Experience: Jack shit..

Goal: To not suck. To be able to play in time with a freakin' metronome. I can play tight as hell in a band, but I am totally lost with that little click sound. Practice time

Production Gear: iMac, PodXT, fingers.
Guitars: Ok, this is the fun part

Ibanez S7420. Heavily modded; Stripped to natural mahogany, tremol-no and a DiMarzio X2N-7 in the bridge, wired in single pickup configuration. the Neck pickup is basically just there to look pretty.

Ibanez RG7321. Stock. Needs new pups though.

Both 7's in B standard, and so far used exclusively at home.

Washburn PS500, Paul Stanley signature model. My main axe in the band. Tuned to Eb. Plays, sound and LOOKS freaking awesome.

ESP M1. I know nothing about this, but I got it at a steal, and it rocks.

Old-ass Aria SG copy. Plays like crap, but sound´s really good.

Epiphone LP Special II. My first axe, and has served me well throughout the years.

On the way, is a Cort 5-string bass w. bartolini pickups.

Amps and cabs: Laney GH50L, and an ENGL pro 4x12 w. v30's is on it's way to me as I'm typing this

Own Band: None
Occupation: Freelance Audio Engineer/Producer/Student
Musical Tastes: Metal, Trip-hop, Lounge, Ambient, Darkwave, Classical, Baroque, Romantic, Industrial
Favorite Band: Opeth

Favorite Producer: Hard to say. Don't have a single favorite. But I have learned so much from Andy and this forum, so if it had to be anyone, it may as well be him.

My dedication to this field is so unwavering that I anticipate to hit a very high level in the next few years.

Repertoire so far consists of a few demo tracks and an EP. Currently at work on an album, with another two lined up, and also another EP.

Goal: Become the 'go-to' metal producer in Australia... god knows, we need one. Beyond that I want to one day be considered one of the best in the world (yeah I know it's dreamy, so sue me).

Hep, I had a good time around for a while reading, asking and ...sometimes... answering question (occasionally). It's time for an introduction :

Name: pifos
Location: Belgium, Louvain-la-neuve during the week, Aubange during the week-end
Age: 22
Own Band: Forced Evolution (Guitar and some programming)
Occupation: Automation enginner in a company designing cyclotrons during the day. Playing-guitar-like-crazy during the evening-night. Ahhh someday I'm gonne be a pro-musician.....
Musical Tastes: Metal (progressive, trash, heavy, death ...), Progressive rock, some acoustic, and jazz.
Favorite Bands: Nevermore, Arch eEemy, Dream Theater, Freak Kitchen, Opeth, Children of Bodom, Threat Signal and many more.
Favorite Albums: Dream Theater / Metropolis Pt 2 : Scenes From a Memory, Metallica / Justice For All, Freak Kitchen / Dead Soul Men, Children Of Bodom / Hatebreeder, Opeth / Blackwater Park
Favorite Producer: Andy Sneap, Steve Wilson
Production Experience:
None really. I programmed the keys for my band first demo and added few samples and effects. At least nothing practical. But I read dozens of posts all over this great forum and asked a lot of question. Trying to learn something. I will handle the production of my band next demo/EP.

Goal: Becoming a rock-star . To Wake-up one day, and saying to myself that the only thing I have to care about today is playing guitar.......

Gear:

- Need a serious vavle amplifier, still havent chosen yet (playing on a vodoo valve actually)
- Randall XLT cabinet
- Ibanez RG7620 7 strings rullleee !!!!!
- My best friend, my metronome

My own private shit (Only has AIC Covers for now)
Occupation: Cashier at a Jewel-Osco by day, suburban metal fiend by night
Musical Tastes: I loves my metal , I can also dig some reggae, industrial from time to time, classical can be pretty cool, and blugrass/folk stuff is the shit
Favorite Band: Metallica, Dream Theater, Alice In Chains... don't make me choose
Favorite Album: Scenes From A Memory - DT
Favorite Producer: Can't say I really have one. I have my set of producers that always seem to create some kick ass tones and I borrow from each of them to make my own style (or at least try to )
Production Experience: I've been self-producing my own stuff for... about 5-6 years
Production Gear :
- Microphones: Shitloads of Shure dynamics, some Samsons, and a couple Audio Technicas
- Audio Interface: MOTU PCI 424 (been doin me well)
- Monitors: Alesis M1 Active Mk2's
- Computer: AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 PC, 1 gig RAM, 1 Terabyte hard drive (including the 2 external drives), using Nuendo 3, Waves Diamond Bundle, Waves Mastering Bundle, T-Racks, Drumagog 4, Voxengo plugs, GVST stuff, Modern Plugs

I'm a drummer and I have a 6-piece (double bass) Tama Rockstar kit with Sabian AA and AAX cymbals. Remo pinstripes on everything except the snare (that has an Emperor). BIG advocate of Ahead drumsticks and the Triplet Drum Glove (those things have spared me countless blisters since I've switched from wood sticks). I've only recently been taking producing seriously for the past 6 months or so and this site has always pointed me in the direction of some cool ideas. I just started drum replacement and I'm gonna be trying reamping soon. Plus the plugs you guys mentioned have been really cool.
