Why don't we have an Impulse sample sticky?

And what's up with all of GuitarHacks posts? He deleting them all.

If you can't get his impulses, someone has them in the FTP - can't recall who, though. I have them, too - AIM me next time you see me on and I'll send them over.

Well I have most of his impulses but I keep seeing threads about where to get impulses and I've noticed he's went back and took all of his links down.

I haven't been on the FTP so I'll check and see what people have now.

I think we need to make a sticky on the use of the SEARCH function. I know it has its annoying limitations (20 second rule, and 4 character or more rule...this one really bites sometimes)... but in general, it works pretty well.

newcomers often don't know what impulses are and what they are used for, let alone know where to find them (even with using the search button) I think a sticky would indeed be a good idea

Who here has what impulses? I've got GuitarHack's impulses already in my ftp folder, and I can put Splat's and the others I have there as well. That, or just create an "Impulses" folder on the ftp.

I guess it would make a handy reference for everyone of where to find the impulses.

That would be a very good idea by putting all the impulses into one folder. I think I have most of GH's impulses and some DSS3's but I have not heard of the Splat impulses.

If you do make a new dir in the ftp, please keep us informed.

Ok...there is a folder just called "Impulses". Inside that, I've got 3 sub folders: Cabinets, Gear (preamps, reverbs, EQ's, etc.), and a Misc folder for whatever strange/interesting things people may have. Let's all try to make sure we don't load duplicates and waste ftp space. Don't want to take advantage of Gavin's generosity.

Brett, does this sound like a good idea for a sticky?

There should also be a newbie guide to using impulses, just a quick walk thru maybe?
