Heard some stuff. Don't like the singer (is it still Guillaume? then why does he sound like a pussy?!) and the songs don't stand out to me. Somehow Mnemic still can't reach the greatness of their first two albums, at least their production standard is always top notch. I can't figure out why they didn't get huge at the time, The Audio Injected Soul was and still is a groundbreaking album.

I said, "No, sorry. Have you tried calling it?" She said, "No. I put it on silent." I said, "If you liked it then you should have put a ring on it." This sounds excellent except what the fuck is up with his clean vocals. They sound terribly nasal and wimpy. He has a really powerful full voice so it must be the way they're mixed or the mic or something....
EDIT: I spoke a bit too soon, when he's belting the vocals sound fine. But when he's not belting with distortion they sound terrible. Also, I agree. MSP and TAIS were so fucking good. Sons of The System was great in my opinion, they definitely made a big style change but I still like it. EDIT again haha I know exactly what I thought of the vocals on "I've Been You". In some parts, it sounds like fucking Dave Mustaine. Last edited by trianglebutt : May 31st, 2012 at 12:25 AM. |

I think sons of the system was a big change but they went to the wrong direction. Now they made a step back. They tracks are more similar to their first albums. Not comparable to their first 2 albums but still good and awesome production wise.

Have you never heard this band before? There's definitely some "numetal" in there, but they're doing it much better than is was then. They are a band with their own sound and consistently write good records, although nothing I would consider groundbreaking. This album sounds like more of the same, but I've always liked that they've done, so for me, that means another good record to own and listen to.

Guitar chain was Ibanez into 5150 + Mesa cab and Laboga...57 and ribbon directly into a 002. Very very raw
