Let me preface this by saying that I love Dean guitars to an extent that's almost irrational, but.....
Totally gay, the DV8 kills this guitar. What happened to his signature Seymour actives??? And why did he switch so soon after ESP made him everything he wanted, including the Axxion??? Last edited by Kazrog : January 21st, 2007 at 05:48 AM. |

the ESPs were waay sweeter, glad I got one when I did. I also like how they photoshopped the pickups in AFTER the fact. notice in all 3 pictures of the guitars the pickups have the exact same reflection of light. And on the limited edition, the light on the guitar comes from the upper right while he light on the pickups comes from the direct left. silly Dean and your goofy photo manipulation skills.

Hmm, not a one has played the axe, I'd wager, but already we've had one throw in that ESP is better, sight unseen for all we know, and three bash the appearance of the pickups. Fucking hell, we're turning into HC.

Dean makes fucking amazing guitars, and I'm never surprised when someone comes along and endorses them. The only guitars I've seen that are near their price-quality ratio are Schecters, and I've yet to play an ESP that I like better than the Dean I picked up for $150 used.

Yeah there reason it looks photoshopped is because the deal was so close to Namm they didn't have final gtrs lined up until last minute, and I think theres still a few adjustments to the neck contour before it goes on sale. Dave seems thrilled to bits with it though.

Do pointy Deans still come in cases bigger than your house? I made the mistake of buying an ML when I was at college and carting that thing on the bus should have been an event on The Worlds Strongest Man.
Is the change for the same reason for ditching the Jacksons? i.e. they drastically reduced his allowance of free guitars |

Bobblehat, I actually wound up buying some case after the guitar, the Gator GW-Extreme or something to that effect, and while it's pretty big the problem is bulk and not weight. Never tried a Dean case, but unless it's significantly more than the Gator case (made of solid lead, possibly) I'm curious as to how weight could be more of a problem than 'Hey, this doesn't want to fit in my trunk!' or something similar to that.
