Fake SM57

Fuck and refuck, I have realized that I have a fake chinese SM57.
I bought it new 2 years ago on Ebay for 63 $. It was an amazing deal. I realized that this mic (for home purpose) does not record as good as the studio 120 € SM57 mics. So I did a checking and I found that I was cheated.

I spent hours trying to get a decent tone with that shit...

I'm going to stick it in sellers ass hole.

The amount of fake crap on ebay is mind blowing. There was a big bust of a gang selling fake golf clubs on it recently, almost impossible to tell apart from the real deal but of course would literally fall apart after a few swings.

I've got one of those chinese ones somewhere, they are really hot in comparison to the real ones. For $35 shipped, it came with the shure "pencil case" and the box was spot on too- I was amazed, and then I heard it's horrible frequency spikes!

There's a dude in Indonesia on eBay selling Ozone 4 for $50. Except, all he does is ask for your challenge code, run it through a keygen and email you the serial.

Yeah you have to watch out. Back in the day before I knew better, I bought Cubase SX3 on the bay with 50 plugins for $40.

All it was was the hacked version with a bunch of plugins with cracks. I was pretty pissed as I thought I was buying a legit copy.

I bought some shures for 78$ and one time i got 4 fake shures... but he gave me back the money without any problem...
usualy when they are fake the name "shure" doesn't appear on the announcement. Or the information is wrong or lacks something that allows seller to sell that fake.

Are those pencil cases definitely fake? (the ones shown in the video that are white on the inside) I got my SM57 and SM58 on Amazon UK, directly from Amazon, not the marketplace, 2 years ago, and they have those pencil cases. I'll have to take a closer look when I get home...

Edit: Have checked my SM58 now, against some online fake vs genuine guides, and it appears to be the real deal

fuckkkk, i just got one today from ebay, it looks like your real ones, except the shure sm57 writing is a sticker, i checked out the video and he said the real ones don't have stickers, the wiring looks good though. safe to say i dont have a multi meter, do you guys have stickers too? or have i been ripped off??

both mine bought new from thomann and a music store years back have stickers, so do all me mates 57s

The newer cases aren't leather, my 8 year old SM57 compared with my 2 year old 57 have different style pncil cases

thanks jonesy, there seems to be so many variations, now mine all look solid except on the inside theres the little lightning bolt that SOME of the websites say is fake.. the rest looks good, ugh.
