Battle metal

For some strange reason, I've really been feeling into this "genre" lately. So far, I've generated an enthusiasm for these bands. Feel free to post the ones you enjoy (or flame me for some lame taste in metal ).

Alestorm
Amon Amarth
Turisas
Moonsorrow

Waiting on more Alestorm clips.

Amon Amarth kicks ass.

Never heard of Turisas.

Turisas is some great Scandanavian metal. Just remembered Finntroll and Korpiklaani (spelling???)

I need something to make up for the 'Disney Metal' moments of the new Nightwish, Amon Amarth very well could be the key.

Yeah, AA rule. Was listening to Versus the World yesterday, and then watched a few clips from their massive Wrath of the Norsemen DVD.

Oh yeah, forgot about a few of those. I find Enslaved and Wintersun to be good for those times when I'm stuck in noncreative moods. I've been hearing a lot about Falkenbach, too. Guess I'll have to check out this list

This album is awesome, infact just about every Moonsorrow album is good. Their new ep "Firestorm" is supposed to come out in March.

True, however, I categorize them all under the very broad umbrella term of "battle metal". These bands have a few things in common with each other and that was what I was trying to highlight. They each express themes of movement and conquest.

Ya'll should check out suidakra http://www.myspace.com/suidakra
They really are an awesome highly underrated band in this genre. I especially recommend checking out the aptly title Wartunes on their myspace.

Dissection's "Storm of the Light's Bane/Where Dead Angels Lie" has a couple good songs. Check out Unhallowed and Night's Blood. OK stuff!
