Well this album is awesome, I can't say if it's better than last one, but for sure last one and this one are better 1000 times than the albums from cryptic and on.
The only thing I really don't like is A tout Le monde, it's just because the original is better for me.
Great work !
I bet gears of war has the original Jsx sound, while the rest is Line6 right?
Andy what about that line6 amp, is it all digital or what? has tubes?

The people on this thread complaining about the production of this album sound like complete wankers...

To me it sounds exactly like i was hoping for when i first heard Andy was doing this record.

I liked the album very much. IMO Megadeth is always cool. Straight drums, heavy guitar riffs, lyrics about destruction, I mean, what can go wrong? I´m just tired of the guitar solos, but that´s just my taste.

Andy, you´ve said that the guitars were just doubletracked, right? So, can you give more details? It was like 100% to the left and 100% to the right? the same Line6 setup/patch on both sides? Which pickups?

Thanks a lot and congratulations for the great album.

I never noticed this...... I'll have to go back and dig out my RIP CD and check it out. (I too have been a big Zep fan since 1972.Ooops..showing my age here)

I've only heard the 2 songs on the Roadrunner site, but I must say you really slayed this album Andy. The guitar tones leave me speechless.....
Can't wait till the 15th when I can fianlly hear the whole album!

Great job!

Damn the cover is pretty cool! What a tease, now I want to hear them cover Kashmir Great job though Andy, I hope you can produce more Megadeth albums.

Been waiting for the legal release date to listen to this.

Can't wait to hear what you've done with the mixes since I heard the unmixed versions in January (part of the MegaFanClub thing).

Washington is Next sounds awesome.

I have to say with the MP3's I'm pretty pleased, but tomorrow morning I'll be there early at the shop !

Anyway...I think the drums could have been more (NOT SOUNDWISE)..but Mustaine has played with way better drummers then mr. Drover. He's tight on this album, but there's nothing surprising about his playing, nothing where you go ... oeeew I like that fill...or oooeeww I liked that groove.... bit of a shame...

I haven't heard the CD but I would agree with statement based on what I witnessed live. The guy has little to no finesse. Bring back Menza!!

Is it me or does this record just step it up a notch starting on track 9, Amerikhastan? Mustaine's best vox in 10 years are on You're Dead IMO.

Picked up the CD today, loving the mix. I think the songs are alright too, at least on early listens. I personally think this mix really sounds good with Megadeth - congratulations Andy!

Please excuse me if this has been asked already, but:
Andy, what role did you play in the creation of this album?
What I mean is - did you mix it, produce it, etc ....
Just got my iTunes copy .... listening right now.

Thanks

Scott

His vocals sound a lot better on this than they have in a while.

Now, if only we could make him less of a fundagelical loon and get him to watch less 24...

it sounds great, and i like most of the songs. although, it does have dave's signature bad lyrics. "i'll dance on your grave, even if you're buried at sea" or something like that...

I actually thought that one was funny.

Then again, that may have been the mental image I had of him in a deep-sea outfit.

Andy,
I was wondering something about the Megadeth sound - and was hoping you might be able to shed some light on it, please.
While mixing the tracks - did you use an L2 or some other kind of device such as the L2 on the master bus?
Also - do you know if Dave's Line 6 was mic'd or was it a direct signal from the Line 6 amp?
Thank you.

Scott

I'm almost positive it was miced. I've never heard of Andy doing anything direct when it wasn't absolutely necessary.
