For those who like symphonic/gothic metal...
EPICA - a band I recently discovered. I love it! Because the leading vocals are sung by one of the greatest singers in the world- Simone Simons! She is incredible! A band has an operetic sound due to Simone, and elements of death grunt which is performed by the leading guitarist. It is a symphonic-gothic metal band and it is somewat challenging to sing all of their songs! So, aspecially for female singers this band IS VERY INTERESTING!

epica, nice dutch band. if you like epica, try these bands:
less known bands:
Delain (also a dutch band)
Even Vast
After Forever
Krypteria (new cd pwns)
Delphian
Alcest
more famous bands:
Evanescence
Within Temptation
Lacuna Coil
Nightwish

Epica is one of the worst and most boring bands ever. If they didn't have a babe like Simons on vocals, they would be known only among very close relatives (and possibly friends too).

I actually have a great idea of what i'm talking about since i also had the "opportunity" to see them live here some months ago. Plus - they can win an award for lame quotes on stage, specifically for their "You are so great and that makes you fuckin' amazing!" that they said here.

well I've seen them live once too but that was in their homecountry so they didn't speak much english, so no lame quotes then
