Dude, you gotta get the first few Ebony Tears records. They went more in the thrash direction...but the first 2 are super melodic death metal.
Tortura Insomniae
Handful of Nothing
Both fantastic.

WITHIN Y
Great band that has something bands like In Flames and Soilwork has lost, alot of energy and interesting melodies!
Their two latest releases Portraying Dead Dreams and The Cult is really something.
It might take more time to get into them compared to their first one Extended Mental Dimensions which also might be considered more traditional melo-death.

It should be noted that the only good Omnium Gatherum album is Spirits And August Light. But that album is fucking awesome.

Mors Principium Est are great! I would recommend you start with their first album "Inhumanity", although their second album "The Unborn" is just as good. Check out the track The Unborn or Sinners Defeat here:

Soilwork ~ a predators portrait is a brilliant album I and still listen to it once in awile always being impressed like listening to it the first time. Honestly it's really the only worthwhile release from the band. Soilwork has some other albums which are by no means bad just weaker versions of Terminal Spirit Disease plus Slaughter of The Soul and would rather listen to Slaughter of The Soul. A Predators Portrait has great song writing riffs production drumming and the guitar solos are especially awesome. I notice when a lot of metal bands go all out on lead playing there solo's end up sounding cheesy and like nintendo games, but the solo's on this album are just pure class in a similiar way to say Carcass-heartwork just more complex and classy as hell like say Amorphis and Opeth's. The minimalistic keys on A Predators Portrait in the background also really add to the album. Soilwork seemed like they were going to be a really great progressive band and than just started sucking. I'm a guitarist so focus on guitar playing first and anyone who plays a guitar will be very impressed and almost find the drumming on the album more impressive especially the off beat drumming at the end of Needlefest which is beyond awesome.

Don't know if this has been mentioned or how similar but for some awesome music check out Dan Swano's Moontower.
It's heavy on the keyboards so theres a warning for you.
