flowery power metal recommendations

Lately, I've really been digging Sonata Arctica so much that they're starting to become one of my favorite bands. I had my friend listen to them, and he said that they sound similar to Startovarius so I listened to them as well, and I really like that band too. So I'm looking for power metal bands that sound similar to Sonata Arctica and Stratovarius complete with flowery, sort of cheesy keyboard solos, etc. What bands would any of you recommend?

There's no power metal band better than Rhapsody. Stay away from Rain of a Thousand Flames, and their latest under their new name Rhapsody of Fire.

And most of those mentioned are pretty young.

hahaha

FREEDOM CALL.

There is no one cheesier. Still, gotta love those harmonies:

"We are Warriors! Born from the light!
An army of freedom defenders of life!"

That's just wrong.

It is wrong. Triumph or Agony is excellent. Takes a couple listens, but you come to appreciate stuff like The Myth of the Holy Sword (my candidate for cheesiest song ever), Heart Of The Darklands (potentially even cheesier) and the 16 minute Mystic Prophecy of the Demonknight...and Silent Dream is simply the best song ever...

However, Symphony of Enchanted Lands Part 2 is better overall - brilliantly composed, imo. And nothing compares with Unholy Warcry...

Legendary Tales is also amazing, in that it's the only album I own that includes a map.

Edguy and Freedom Call are good recs.
Human Fortress doesn't have keyboard solos, but they have the bright sound that I think is what you're looking for. Maybe.

Yes, I thought that Triumph and Agony was good as well; but I also don't think Rhapsody is the best power metal band. It's just my tastes, but I think there are a lot of power metal bands better than Rhapsody.

And I STILL don't own Legendary Tales. I need to get on that.

Good rec with Human Fortress. They're actually one of my favorite power/melodic metal bands, and they're very underrated in my opinion. I can't wait for the new record, although I know they have a new singer. I hope it's as good as the previous two.

Legendary Tales, Power of the Dragonflame and SOEL are fucking superb albums and there really isn't a better guitarist in power metal than luca and fabio vocals get me hard.
