Similar to Bohren & Der Club of Gore?
I've yet to find much of anything since they have that doomy jazz flavor that almost borders on dark ambient at times...

Try EST - Esbjorn Svensson Trio. But not as dark and not as good.

KILIMANJARO DARKJAZZ ENSEMBLE
seriously, probably my favorite dark jazz band next to Bohren. Soo good.

thanks will check them out... do you guys know offhand if people who are primarily into Jazz like Bohren or if its just some of us into darker extreme music that do?

I believe Dale Cooper refers to a character from the David Lynch project Twin Peaks which had music from Angelo Badalamenti

aye... I never would've expected there'd be something even more obscure then some of the metal I've found but that takes the cake, no hits on it for DC++, no hits on any of the torrent networks, not for sale that I see anywhere I just kept seeing good things about it on last.fm... finally i msged one of the guys that was on the top listener page and he told me to come get it from him on soulseek... but not just any soulseek the experimental test server lol I did get several nice people to upload it for me since i mass msged them on last.fm to get it as well lol
