ok for the last 2 years or so I haven't really paid much attention to any forums, but I was kinda shocked that I've missed stuff like Mirrorthrone... what other bands have come into their own or come out of nowhere in that time period? any metal genre works

Farsot, though still relatively unknown, came out of nowhere with an amazing album, IIII. Also, check out Fen's Ancient Sorrow, Haive's Mieli Maassa, anything by Klabautamann, Triune Impurity Rites by Necros Christos...and that should about do it
