Septic Flesh

Right, i'd never normally make a thread for another band in this kind of forum, but their new album is the fucking tits and most importantly in relation to this, they're Greek.

So I was wondering what Mr K's thoughts on his fellow Greek Metallers are. I'd imagine a somewhat positive reaction, considering they used an 80-piece orchestra and a 32-voice choir courtesy of the Prague Philharmonic on the recording. (If only you guys had the budget to pull that off eh? Hahaha)

What is it with you Greeks and your Epicness?

Dunno man lol,

we like our big orchestral arrangements he he,

The budget is always a shore point in most labels. It's awesome they could afford the orchestra, wish we could do the same but it's down to different approach from labels. Nuclear Blast for instance seems to be very open to these kind of funding arrangements. I came across another band of theirs called Therion and they have done a live vid with full orchestra, choir and soprano singer he he, Crazy stuff

I checked Septic Flesh out,
yeah man I like it a lot. The philharmonic orchestra was really good and did like the mix of the orchestra with the band.
They used strings and french horns from what I could hear on their tracks on MySpace. The mail choir was cool too.
But I mostly like their guitar arrangements. Didn't know much about the guys (other than them being from Greece ) but I really like the new tracks.
I also like the concept of the album, the religious distortion is brilliant,

Great stuff!

Sumerian Daemons and Communion are the only ones i've really listened to, but fuck me they're epic. I seriously can't stop listening to the title track from Communion on my iPod.

And i'm glad you like 'em Monsieur K, haha, they really have a perfect balance with the Orchestra too, they didn't "Over-Pomp" it. But I'd kill to hear some Biomechanical choons with a full Philharmonic Backing. And yeah, Therion also kick heaps of ass.
