^In Sorte Diaboli is good, though a lot less symphonic than usual.

Vortex and Hellhammer should start Arcturus again. =)
Well I wouldn't say "anything" good you know? PEM is a good album IMO, but EDT is definitely their best .

Hellhammer and Vortex are definitely a waste in Dimmu, but well, what can we do? If they're happy there, let them be. If not, then the third-brightest-star in the firmament seen from Earth should shine again .

Awww man I miss them .

I don't like it. Dimmu had lost all glimpse of songwriting since Galder is on the band, but Shagrath sounds less robotic there.

It's my idea or the Vortex part on the sacrilegious scorn sounds totally borky-esque and the clean chorus on the serpentine offering sounds arcturus(sideshow symphonies)-esque?

ISD It's better than DCA IMO but worst than the rest for me. I can dig Dimmu until EBD and from PEM just sympozium and the maelstrom mephisto.

^I still don't have DCA but really like Heavenly Perverse and Alleghens Dod off of it. So what's Arcturus-like about ISD? This isn't the first time I read that similarity.

Did u heard Arcturus's Sideshow Symphonies? do it and you'll notice it (the singer is Simen, btw).

The Mustis work sounds like Arcturus sometimes, specially the carnival-esque keys on the sacrilegious scorn and the invaluable darkness... maybe that's the reason I found better this album.

btw: I hate the fact all songs starts with 'The' and have 3 words.

Yeah I agree. I totally disregarded it after I bought it, sounded too straightforward metal. It sat on the shelf for a few months...then one day I put it on, and it blew my mind!

(needs more vortex though)

Actually, I think you're right. I remember now listening to PEM and actually seeing them live when they released it. It was alright. But when I put it on now, it feels a bit ho hum. But the same is true of EDT. Stromblast is the only Dimmu album that has stood the test of time for me...
