Jazz Fusion

Hey everyone,

So I wanted to see if there are any jazz fusion fans out here. I'm a huge Al Di Meola fan and am looking forward to seeing him play with Return to Forever. I've been on their site www.return2forever.com nonstop reading reviews and articles about their return. No one can shred like Al and I'm so excited to see him play live. They start the east coast part of the tour in a couple weeks. Is anyone else an Al Di Meola fan? Is anyone else gonna go see them?

Thumbs up

I'm not really an Al Di Meola fan, but I've certainly heard him and he's certainly awesome .

I wish I could see him someday .

I really don't listen to much jazz fusion (I'm still waiting for my bass prof. to give me a damn cd with good jazz on it). However, check this band out, you'll like it:

It's good to see different topics around here, and welcome to the forum .

Well I can say for certain that I'm more of a Jazz Fusion fan than a Free Jazz fan.

jazz fusion is the best. Al is a great player, but a lot of his material i don't really care for. I'm more of a scofield fan, he does a lot of weird shit, especially on uberjam. excellent album.

Al is probably my favourite guitar player of all time. I love both his electric and acoustic side.

Mmm, jazz fusion. I personally like Weather Report (old school jazz fusion, sort of). Jaco Pastorius was a great bassist.

Thanks for the reccomendation, they were pretty good.

And I do like Weather Report as well, but right now I'm getting stoked to see RTF. It's nice to see more jazz & jazz fusion fans around here.
