But watching live vids it doesn't seem that, or at least to me. It seems to me that he tunes DGCA and CGCA, but I'm not an expert on bass neither I've watched that closely, it's just what it seems to me.

Be careful with what pickup you put that guitar in. I've tried it in so many guitars. Works magic for some, but others is pure suck. In ESP SV's it was horrible and muddy. In some Jackson King V's though, it ruled. Better double check and get a very good version of the wood Becker used in his guitar.

I guess that would apply to most pickups though, wouldn't it? I was saying in another thread how a J50BC in my BC Rich (assuming the body is made out of poplar) sounds much, much better than in a guitar that's made of alder (Jackson Stars RR). Both pickups are the same type, too.
But since Jason used a superstrat, I'd probably get close enough for me to recognise the kinda tone he got on "Air".

The S&D SH5 Custom, that came with my Jackson Stars, sounded much better in it (alder body) than it does now in poplar body.
I too changed around J50BCs in my two Jacksons yesterday. One sounded better than the other and I was wondering if it is the woods or the pickup itself. Will try it thoroughly today. Last edited by _Nazgul_ : May 3rd, 2008 at 07:19 AM. |

You might wanna add "Guitar Heroes" on other appearances.
In this vid^ it looks like he uses some kind of Krank preamp. Don't know wich, b/c I'm not much of a krank guy, but I looked the "Krankenstein" up, and it looked very similar. But I don't know.

He's using a Krank Krankstein head 100W, his old ESP Sawtooth with EMG HZ and MM04 and maybe a wah too for some solos
