Yeah, they were. He said it's a guitar similar, but it's pretty much exact apart from the colour. COOL!!

About the green pinstriped Jackson from JGP true that Alexi's pins were darker, but whatever. Both of them still amazing guitars that I'd love to own

IMO, the green pinstriped is just a good photoshop version of the yellow beveled one. Just look at the position of the documents in the case....EXACLTY THE SAME!

I apologize if this is in another thread.. but does anyone know if Alexi and Roope are using the Lee Jackson GP-1000II's yet? I've read they have the actual prototypes.

It's possible that he owns two different guitars in the style of Alexi.

It's also possible that he took two photos of the same yellow beveled guitar with a slightly different angle and he or someone photoshopped it.

I wouldn't know which to choose, because the green pin one looks very good and real.

some question about GP1000 THX

Q1:There are three 12AX7 tube in the GP1000 , and I wonder what's the funtion of each 12AX7 tube.I mean that Are they the same ? or maybe they have different funtion . for example: maybe one manage the clean tone part , one manage the distrotion part or somthing....

Q2:there are tube covers on each 12AX7 , is it necessary ? or maybe I can remove it?

btw, what 12AX7 do you guys suppose Laiho use? thanks

There just gainstages. More gainstages = more gain.
The tube's/gainstages just amplify your signal. And together with Cathode/plate resistors and coupling caps they adjust your tone.

The first gainstage is always enabled, if you use the pull distortion knob you can engage the second gainstage.

The GP1000 has 6 gainstages. 4 in front of the EQ and 2 after.
Remember that you must use set the volume knob to a low level if you want a clean sound, thats because your signal will be reduced and wont distort your tube's.

Remember, i'm not a fully experienced amplifier technican. And all of the things i say are based on the M-1000 preamp.

Q2: Dunno.

Q2, I believe you have to unscrew them out in order to take out the tubes. It's what I did anyway. Maybe you can take tubes out too without unscrewing the covers?

I have no idea what tubes Alexi used and IMO it doesn't matter anyway. I have still original 'Lee Jackson' branded chinese 12AX7s in it and they sound great! I also tested some Mesa Boogies, EH and one other brand (forgot wich one DOH) and all of them had less gain than the original tubes. My tech also tried putting some different tubes in it and came to the same conclusion. If you want to change the tubes, I suggest you look for some chinese 12AX7s.

It is? If you need a more simple/detailed explanation, just ask.

Or if you want more information just ask.

the tube covers are sort of like "seat belts" for the tubes. They hold them in place and sometimes they have springs in the covers to absorb any vibrations and cushion the tubes.

Yes you can take them off
