No ! don't !
They should record their own gig not some 'Relentless Wacken Forever' ,I personally don't like this idea seems to me like its something big, How many songs can get in 1 hour and quarter ? lol ,Little bit disappointing cause it looks like the set list won't be different than the current one, lets wait and see ![]() |

75 mins is enough if they make the setlist exciting... Chokehold is a must, it's so brilliant live. Children Of Decadence was already going to make it to CRY (along with Bastards Of Bodom but they didn't have enough time to practise), so maybe the COD/Chokehold medley will make it to the setlist. I think a live DVD is a perfect opportunity to eternalize a rare song played live, so I wouldn't mind if they played one or two really "weird" songs, if they had chance to practise.

I don't know if this was said here before but the DVD is being recorded at Wacken Open Air in Germany in a few days.
Alexi says it here on full metal Jackie towards the end (After 6 minutes) http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/bla...sitemID=160881 |

There's ten (10!) songs on the setlist that already are played on CRY. Out of the non-BD/RRF songs there's only 1 song different, COB. I wouldn't really care to see Needled, Hate Me, Follow the Reaper and Hatecrew Deathroll played live at all. Some of the other recently played songs include: Bed Of Razors Children Of Decadence (half) Mask Of Sanity (half) Kissing the Shadows Chokehold Are You Dead Yet? Ugly Those are all more interesting options imo. I would like much more older songs of course but I think it's a different band now than 10 years ago so they don't feel natural. We saw with CRY they played the exact same set with same passages for a long time before the DVD gig. They planned to include 2 different songs - one of which hadn't been played for many years and one that had not been played live yet - but didn't manage to pull off the plan. I want some surprises dammit, it's probably their last live DVD! Maybe some of those other recently played songs will end up on a list of random DVD quality filmings from the tours. Of course with such complex and difficult music you can't just pull any imaginary setlist out of your ass, but I'd like songs such as Punch Me I Bleed, Trashed, Lost & Strungout, Knuckleduster, One Day You Will Cry, Banned from Heaven, Lil' Bloodred Ridin' Hood, The Nail, Chokehold to end up on a live DVD... and I'd love a DVD from the Hatebreeder / Follow the Reaper days :P That stuff just doesn't represent what the band is about today.

^Agreed, I somehow don't see a point in recording a worse version of CRY. The Wacken 06 recording was interesting because there were other rarely played songs like Chokehold or Towards Dead End, and a new DVD should offer similar rarities. Maybe I'd have chosen some other songs than you did, but all in all every single one of the songs you mentioned would be more interesting than the ninth live version of In Your Face etc. Still hoping they're going to surprise the hell out of us this time.

Yeah... trade the secure-hits off for something more exotic... Otherwise it's gonna be clichéic for fans. There are a zillion ways to alter the setlist, and a band like this should be able to pull off a couple big surprises for a live DVD. I could make them ten good suggestions for setlist but they won't ever see it. :P It should be clear they can't play 10 songs that were included on the previous DVD, so there should be 2-4 changes.

Last friday K-Man came to talk with some of the girls in the front row before the gig in Qstock and said that recording the DVD in Wacken is not going to happen for some reason or another. Its not due to the band. Anyway, we'll have to wait until Wacken to be certain but this is what I heard.

Sometimes I wonder if they know they have a fan community. What the fuck is going on seriously, the Hypocrisy tour got cancelled, the SKO video got banned, and now their live DVD is not fucking happening? Wacken would've been great with the gig booked midnight, outdoor venue and hundred thousand strong crowd. FUCK.

I was wondering about that as at the Orlando show they said they were recording and it said it on their facebook page...or at least I was told it was on their facebook page.
Maybe they need to practise so they can add some different songs to the DVD, instead of what they are playing now.

Hmmmmmmm... maybe they try to record songs from a few different shows and release some kind of compilation, two songs from each show or something like that - would fit to the photobook idea, "COB impressions from all over the world" or something...???

See...I think that would be an awesome idea.
I also think they should record every shows audio direct from soundboard and sell it on line or something. That way we can all have that show we went to on cd or at least an mp3. I know I would buy it, and I have a feeling lots of other people would. Who doesn't want something to remember there shows by.

I truly hope they're not going to record this latest setlist with 10 similar songs as CRY. They have to understand to make the diversity, and include at least Chokehold, I keep repeating it but it's honestly so amazing live. But Kal said the cancelling of the Wacken recording didn't have anything to do with the band... so they were prepared for recording there.

So here's the next shows... I wonder if the DVD recording will take place on one of these? Too bad there's no Japan even if they're in Oceania. But anyway I'd rather see the gig recorded at an exotic country rather than Europe. At least fans will be different color if nothing else, lol.
And I hope they include a lot of footage from the tours from these weirdass countries so we can get have more inside feel. And a super fresh setlist. September 07 - Glav Club, St. Petersburg (RUS) September 09 - Arena, Moscow (RUS) November 03 - Barby, Tel Aviv (IL) November 06 - Capitol, Perth (AUS) November 08 - Tivoli, Adelaide (AUS) November 10 - The Palace, Melbourne (AUS) November 12 - The Big Top, Sydney (AUS) November 13 - The Arena, Brisbane (AUS) November 15 - Basket Senayan, Jakarta (RI) November 17 - Fort Gate, Singapore (SGP) November 19 - Amoranto Theater, Manila / Quezon City (RP)

I just listened through the Wacken 2011 audio that was released in good quality and I fear for a new DVD if the playing is as bad as it is here. Alexi has to be taking the piss surely... he really needs to straighten up and practice cause this was a bit embarrassing at some parts. The last DVD his playing was pretty tight...

Just FYI. The video and audio that you see from the Wacken show was done in full by the festival themselves. Mainly I direct this towards the comments about the audio. It was mixed and recorded by some dude or dudes in a truck somewhere near the stage, they most likely know little of the way the band should sound. And in defence of the random audio guy/s in the recording truck... He/they did it on the fly, so not bad really considering. That is also why the sound gets better over the course of the first few songs.

I've ran into some really awkward mixes of the live shows, one had keyboards unnecessarily loud at times, one (ADK video) was drum-dominant and made the song sound kinda doomish... then we have the ones where you can only hear Alexi's vocals, like COB was a pop band with clear vocals and minimal importance on instruments.

Unfortunately, this applies to the vast majority of the people currently involved in the music industry, regardless of the means at their disposal...
