Autorbewertung: http://www.wallsoffire.de/sterne/sterne.php4?anzahl=10 Erscheinugsdatum: 2006 ![]() Diese CD lässt mich sprachlos erscheinen. Autor: [Walzenstein]

Artist: Negura Bunget Title: Om (Code 666) Type: Album Rating – 9.5/10 Geographically Negura Bunget have always stood in a field of their own, one that has seen them as being highly respected in UGBM circles. Despite quirky tricks such as releasing albums in boxes with pine leaves it is the music on Om (translated simply as man in their native tongue) that will have people sitting up and taking notice. This opus is an exercise in vast, spatial and downright mind expanding cosmic energy that few have come near to touching. Long ever flowing riffs are gloriously uplifting, working on a mesmerising simplicity whilst the progressive fusion of the remaining instrumentation virtually drops into free fall around them. The atmospheric pallor always has violence near to hand and the rabid anger tinged vocal cries of discontent from the somewhat insanely named Hupogrammos are quick to bite as savagely as anything thrown out from the Transylvanian wastelands. There is a very retro feel tingeing things and this is one band that are certainly not afraid to utilise synthesizers. Waves of them flow from the speakers in a fashion reminiscent of Electric Tepee era Hawkwind with the lone guitar chord sorrowfully weeping away in their wake. Trance like states are certainly hinted at with distant horns and the sound of cow bells tinkling away like a pagan post KLF chill out. Gnarly and rugged Dedesuptul flows into Norilor a number that is filmic in scope. This is a dark film soundtrack at work, as it creeps with danger and stealth into tribal drumming bearing down like a main course invitation to a cannibal cookout. Having brought timpani, woodblocks and xylophone into play and keeping the music ever fresh and inventive the folk laden Hora Soarelui has flute piping merrily amidst clean vocal croons emitting a bacchanalian joviality. With the concept having set out to provide a ritual that is designed to transform the listener into an evolved individual, the music here really does take you to a higher plane of existence and comes close to invoking a shamanic state. Om is one album you could probably put in a pipe and smoke and with the added bliss of coming with a DVD of extras is nothing short of essential. Www.negurabunget.com Pete Woods

For those of you out there who want something that little bit different to satisfy your everlasting extreme music hunger, then without a shadow of a doubt Romania’s Negura Bunget are just the dish you have been searching for. Having been around for 11 years this bizarre trio have released four mind-blowing full lengths and a host of demos and EP’s of the most bewildering symphonic black metal you are ever likely to hear. Four years have past since the band released the criminally ignored ‘N Crugu Bradului’ so for those of you who thought that the band were dead and buried can think again because new opus ‘Om’ is just about as good as this stuff gets. Likely to be in the top 10 of many a magazine’s album polls of 2006, the music contained within sears, soars and glides creating an atmosphere that will savage your soul and melt your heart at the same time. Much more than just a collection of songs ‘Om’ transports you into a fantastic realm of darkness and ice, with the dense guitars and swirling synths creating a blizzard of such epic and magnificent proportions it is almost impossible to transcribe in words. Think Vinterikket at his most euphoric and Enslaved at their most magnificent and your somewhere close to how unbelievable this music is, managing to compile a cleansing yet suffocating experience that will bring the extreme music world to its knees. Easily one of the best albums to rear its beautifully ugly head from the underground realms, it ranks, for this writer at least as the finest hour since hearing ‘In The Nightside Eclipse’ for the first time. As an added bonus, 'Om' comes with a bonus DVD featuring stunning video clips of the tracks "Cunoaºterea Tãcutã" and "Norilor", some live recordings and an interview with intense frontman Hupogrammos Disciple's (Edmond Karban) and drummer Negru so you can be sure to get your money's worth here as well. Absolutely amazing stuff that will be ignored no longer.

VOTO 8,5/10 RECENSIONE A CURA DIMAX

From Terrorizer (UK) magazine:
There are few pleasures available to the music fan as great as watching a band simmer, slowly come to the boil and then [i]blow.[i] In the four years since Negura Bunget's last full-length release, the perfectly respectable 'N Crugu Bradului', it'd be forgivable to imagine Romania's finest export had been locked away rehearsing and composing non-stop, forging, folding, re-folding and planing the material to the apogee of perfection like a Japanese sword. Like Drudkh's albums, 'Om' underlines the unassailable supremacy of the Eastern European scene's idea of symphonic, sweeping black metal over the footling, plinky-plonky ideas graveyard their western cousins cling to. The keyboards create enormous, evocative landscapes of sound, the vocals are convincingly impassioned and hoarse with ancient pride, the dense guitars are stirring and resolute and the whole experience is euphoric, cleansing and draining all at the same time. 'Om's bonus DVD is unexpectedly illuminating, though not particularly of Negura's ideological motivations (a slightly rambling interview with intense vocalist Hupogrammos is baffling, though drummer Negru is affable and concise). No, the breathtaking video clips of Transylvanian forests, artfully directed and beautifully shot on film rather than tacky video, eloquently illustrate the music's innate primeval vastness. Expect to hear that chant of 'Om' again echoing through the year-end album poles. [9/10] James 'Harry' Hinchcliffe

Label: code666 Release: November 3 2006 By: Dajana Rating: 10/10 (album of the month) Time: 67:06 Style: Black Metal URL: Negurã Bunget A long, long time we had to wait. After the release of the outstanding album ’N crugu bradului in 2003 it was planned to unleash the follower OM early 2005. But many different problems have foiled all plans so NEGURÃ BUNGET decided to release an EP first to shorten the waiting time a bit. Now the year 2006 is coming to an end and the Romanian gents finally made it to get the highly anticipated full-length out. And what can I say? The long waiting was definitely worthwhile! OM is an absolute masterpiece of dark and apocalyptic black metal. It’s dense and intensive, enticing, mesmerizing, oppressive, mystical and ice-cold at the same time. NEGURÃ BUNGET earlier called their own style as „Primitive Transylvanian Metal“. Now it makes sense. Compared with OM, preceding releases sound raw and sometimes inordinate. OM reveals much attention details. The sound is complex and layered. Many instruments and samples get used, perfectly staged, and not too many at the same time, not overloading or confusing the music. Quite the contrary! It’s a pleasure to discover new aspects with every new run. Just pay attention to all the percussive elements on this record. Same goes for the songwriting. NEGURÃ BUNGET almost reached the maximum in creating tensions that erupt in epic melodies. OM begins the way the EP Inarborat Kosmos: with the intro Ceasuri Rele that thematically ties in with Vaiet, but also could come from an Elend release. Tesarul De Lumini again (just great, I love this song) sounds like a collaboration with Void Of Silence, while Primul Om is a pure ambient-like and atmospheric instrumental as well as Norilor and the closing outro Al Doilea/Om. Inarborat is equal to Wordless Knowledge from the EP, just a bit deeper tuned to get rid of… um… a certain cheeriness the song on the EP owns due its fanfares? As for me I heard quite often similarities to the EP, but while directly comparing there were differences. Of course, guitars are not cut out; it’s still a black metal album In between pace and heaviness get always again boosted. But OM is more than just a black metal record. OM is the soundtrack to your journey thru Transylvanian, a journey thru the history of mankind and thru your inner I, interpreted by NEGURÃ BUNGET. This album is just breathtaking!OM comes as a CD/DVD double-pack. On the bonus DVD are video clips, live clips, an interview and footage to find. A must-have!!!
