Edge of Sanity inspired by... Mario?
I got "The Spectral Sorrows" in the mail today. I popped it in and the first thing I noticed is that the instrumental opening reminded me of video game music. I thought about it all day and then it hit me - it kind of sounds like the underground theme in Super Mario Land. They are a bit similar - hear for yourselves:

aye, similar but that happens sometimes, you found out a melody from the depths of your mind, and 2 years later you are suddenly shocked while listening to one your favourite songs from your childhood that you almost forgot 15 years ago.
or it may be pure luck too. there are endless possibilities with notes while making music, but 2 different guys pick the same 7-8 notes and line them up with similar timings ![]() |
