I'm not devastated by Michael's passing but I am sad
I was lucky enough to see him in concert in the last century

I'm not qualified to comment on MJ the performer and God forbid I comment on MJ the alleged molester of kids. I do believe he was influential, but he was no Elvis, no Beatles, no Madonna. Just my opinion.

I don't understand people. They stopped bothering with him and liking him after the accusations, and now they put him back on a pedestal just because he's dead.

I'm not the one to comment either, but he owned rights to the Beatles music catalog, fucked Elvis' daughter and was smart enough to stay away from Madonna.

I'd give him props just for that (I'm not familiar with his music at all).

I'm one for three out of those, does that make me one-third as cool as MJ?

I was slightly more distraught over the loss of Billy Mays, just because I can't make fun of him with my brother any more. Good times...

He allegedly fucked Elvis' daughter! MJ having had consensual heterosexual intercourse? You don't want to throw around this kind of accusations, man.

Poor Michael dead and gone
Left me here to sing his song
Pretty little girl with the red dress on
Poor Michael dead and gone

Lisa Marie claimed that they did have sex
but sex to her and Michael may be something completely different to you and me?

Yes Michael did own the Beatles music catalog but he needed some cash and sold 50% to Sony
as part of this transaction he picked up part ownership of the music catalog of artists like
Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, his estate even has a share in the music of Lady GaGa

Its the drugs stupid ...
Like his former father-in-law, it was probably/likely the drugs that did him in
(doctors always have access to the best drugs)
beside Demerol, OxyContin(here in WV we call that hillbilly heroin)
he had a thing for Diprivan
its a wonder the man could function at all, but I sure he could so call sleep
In fact he is now sleeping for eternity

Soon the conspiracies about his death should start ...
Space Aliens abducted him and replaced his body with a clone.
The CIA murdered him because he knew who really killed Princess Diana
He's still alive and living on the Island of Anafi
on and on and on -

I've already done one bungee and one parachute jump this summer (2 first timers!) not exactly vacation per se but still quite liberating.

Actual vacation plan is 1week in Virginia Beach with some friends this August.

I'll be doing my second skydive on July 26!

And I'll be sharing a beach house in the Outerbanks (North Carolina) with some friends in August. So our summers are shaping up similarly.

One time was quite enough for me - I was looking for adrenaline rush, not for adrenaline oversdose

I'm not really scared (I'd do it again if I have to), but it's a different idea of fun for me, not something I'd do on regular basis.

Wow, what a coincidence!

Quote:

Yes and no. I was 18 and my college dorm organized it. It was a static-line jump from 5,000 feet with no freefall, the parachute just opens automatically (which is what I wanted -- I wanted to float, not fall), but it was solo, not tandem. We had to go through training for 2 days beforehand, and it's a good thing I had been paying attention, because my parachute cords were twisted. So I had to waste some of my precious floating time trying untangle them to prevent my death. And because I'd spent so much time doing that instead of steering, I got way off course and landed in a cornfield. So the parachute and the cords got entangled with 8-ft tall cornstalks, and I was all scraped up and bruised.

So, that was the bad part. The good part was the time actually spent floating up there, all by myself. [/emo] It was so quiet and peaceful.

This time it's for my bday -- I'm turning 30 next weekend, and I wanted to do something memorable. I'll be doing a tandem jump from 12,000 feet. I'm not all that jazzed about the freefall, but it'll be nice to have someone else doing all the work.

What was your jump like?
