I had heard the name but never bothered with them until Mikael Akerfeldt recommended them on a MySpace blog a while back. I took a listen to Dismantling Devotion, and promptly kicked myself in the ass for waiting so long to discover this amazing band! I could listen to Dismantling Devotion non-stop and never get tired of it. It's sheer perfection!

If Mikael recommended The Backstreet Boys on his blog would you have jumped all over that too? Opeth fanboys... ![]() |

Tell me, what is wrong with checking out the recommendations of a well-respected musician? Or are you just being a confrontational idiot?

ok...KittyKatatonia that was a total judgemental statement. What if he took the advice from Blackheim?
Anyway, I heard of Daylight Dies sometime after "No Reply" come out but wasn't too interested in it. However for some reason I was always checking this forum to check updates on their making of the new one which was "Dismantling Devotion" at the time. I became a fan after I heard "Dismantling Devotion"...

First I liked Killswitch Engage album called "As Daylight Dies". Then I came to UM to check Dark Tranquillity and Forest Stream (outstanding doom metal band aswell) forums and noticed that "name of the band named like Killswitch Engage album" (yeah, I thought so those days). Then I watched "Lies That Bind" video and fell in love with both music and video. And then I stuck on "Life Less Lived". Fantastic song
