There's a section in this instructional video piece I did with EMG TV, where I demonstrate the use of the EMG 89 pickup, which uses a split coil function, to switch between humbucker and single coil, as I did to record the middle section of the tune. Check it out! Anyone else have any favorite songs from the album? |

I checked out that video. It is definitely a cool riff. The closest I got tonally was through using the both pickups on my hellraiser and with the volume turned a bit down on both, but with the bridge turned down a tad more. It is still not as close as that. Besides, you are using a different setup, I'm using my guitar through and old, borrowed POD and straight to my headphones. Emg 89s are cool too. I wonder if they have a seven string version of those.
I am currently working on the Afterlife tapping intro and on the diminished runs. |
