Question Top Female-Fronted Metal Release of 2007

I thought now would be a good time to look back at some of the great female-fronted metal that came out last year ...

Some Female-Fronted Metal Release of 2007:

Aesma Deva - Dawn of the New Athens
After Forever – S/T
The Agonist - Once Only Imagined
Arch Enemy – Rise Of The Tyrant
Autumn - My New Time
Battlelore – Evernight
Coronatus - Lux Noctis
Deadlock – Wolves
Dalriada - Kikelet
Echoes of Eternity – The Forgotten Goddess
Epica – The Divine Conspiracy
Fountain of Tears - Fate (self-release)
Godyva – In Good and Evil
Imperia – Queen of Light
In This Moment – Beautiful Tragedy
Macbeth – Superangelic Hate Bringers
Nemesea – In Control
Nightwish – Dark Passion Play
Shadowside - Theatre of Shadows
Sirenia - Nine Destinies And A Downfall
Therion - Gothic Kabbalah
Trail Of Tears – Existentia
Tristania – Illumination
Vainglory – Vainglory
Valkyre - Consolamentum
Visions of Atlantis – Trinity
Vixen - Live & Learn
Within Temptation – The Heart of Everything
Xandria – Salome: The Seventh Veil

My Personal Top Female-Fronted Metal Release of 2007:
1. Within Temptation – The Heart of Everything - This album just hooked me from the beginning when I heard it this year. I've been a big fan of Within Temptation's work for awhile and while the new album is no Silent Force, I really dig it. It's heavy, has catchy riffs, and Sharon's amazing vocals.
2. Nightwish – Dark Passion Play
3. Xandria – Salome: The Seventh Veil
4. After Forever – S/T (Special props from me for having Doro as a guest on track 11. )
5. Epica – The Divine Conspiracy
6. In This Moment – Beautiful Tragedy
7. Echoes of Eternity – The Forgotten Goddess
8. Visions of Atlantis – Trinity
9. Vixen - Live & Learn
10. Shadowside - Theatre of Shadows
11. Imperia – Queen of Light
12. Vainglory – Vainglory

There were a lot of great metal releases this year IMO. I have probably missed a few that should be on the above list (I'm only human ), but I'll try to update it as people mention other albums on this thread.

What were your favorites of 2007?

This is a great thread. I love female-fronted metal bands. I noticed a few on Black Rose's list I wasn't aware of. I'd better get buying!

Okay so am I an idiot or did EDENBRIDGE's "The Chronicles of Eden" not come out in 2007? That would have been my vote ... but then again I haven't heard a lot of these others so ... alas ...

It did indeed come out in 2007, but I didn't count it because it's a "Best Of" compilation, although it is a very good "Best Of," so I suppose it should at least get an "Honorable Mention."

Had Edenbridge had a studio album out in 2007 it certainly would have made my list, as they are one of my favorite female-fronted bands right now.

Oh wooops! Well, apparently I need to get more familiar with their back catalog then. I have ARCANA and THE GRAND DESIGN ... I must have been asleep!
