Xandria - Salome: The Seventh Veil
Does anyone else dig the German symphonic metal band Xandria or their latest album?
The first time I heard Xandria was the Ravenheart video on one of the Monsters of Metal DVDs. I instantly loved it and bought the album as soon as I could. Soon after I began collecting the rest of their 4 albums. I got their newest album, Salome: The Seventh Veil, early last year (came out in May I think) and I just love it. I think my favorite tracks are probably Vampire, Firestorm, Beware, and Only for the Stars in Your Eyes, but I never put the album in without listening to the whole thing all the way through. For me it's just holistically a great album. ![]() I was a little disappointed that they went in a more poppy direction with one of the singles (Sisters of the Light). They even did a more electronic/techno-ish re-mix that got played in the nightclubs/dance halls in Europe from what I understand. I wouldn't want the whole album to sound that way, but the album version of Sisters of the Light is still enjoyable IMO. Overall, a great album and one of my favorites of 2007! ![]() Also found a video online from the first track on the album (Save My Life) and thought I'd share: Here's a few links for you to check out more if this isn't a band you're already familiar with: Official Web site - http://www.xandria.de/ MySpace - http://www.myspace.com/xandria Anyone else like this band or any of their albums?

great band....been into them for years. If you are looking for non commercial sounding female fronted acts...look into Cruachan and Arkona...even Alkonost.
