Post How To Post A Poll

How To Post A Poll

A cool feature of these forums is the ability to post a poll in within your thread. You might want to guage quick opinions, as well as asking for them in replies. One nice thing is that other users don't have to reply to your post to vote on the poll, which makes gathering responses to your poll easy.

To create your own poll, start a new thread as you usually would.

You can write a message first, to perhaps expand on WHY you're polling your fellow fans.

When you're ready, before clicking the 'submit new thread' button, check the white box beside 'Yes! post a poll' just above the button. There's also a field there for the number of options you would like to have (the most you can have is 20).

Click 'Submit New Thread' and it will take you to the polling page.

You will have four fields to fill in:

Question: This is where you type your question
Number of options: How many answers you would like other people to choose from
Options: a field for each answer you would like to offer for people to select
Poll timeout: how long in days you would like the poll to last. If you want it to last forever, just leave it as 0 (zero).

Click 'Submit New Poll' and you're sorted!

You can also click 'preview poll' if you want to see a plain text version of it, to check for spelling errors and such
